Hill Country Nazarene

Looking Back and Looking Forward

Sunday is New Year's Eve. As we come to the close of a calendar year, we continue to think much like we did during Advent. We look back at the coming of Christ, and we tend to look back over all that has happened this last year. But we also look forward to a New Year and wonder what all it might hold, including the possibility of the Second Coming of Christ. So, like Advent, we look ahead. As you look back over the year, praise God for His faithfulness. As you look toward the New Year, thank Him for all of His Promises!

This Sunday, we will study Matthew 24:1 -14 and remind ourselves that Jesus has promised to come back again, and that He has taught us some important things to help us prepare for His coming!

    Thank you!

Thanks to Danette McWilliams' family, Clayton Lefner, and Alan Dyer, who helped finalize putting the shelves in place; everything is now complete in the pastor's office remodel! The new pastor will have an inspiring work atmosphere and office thanks to the generosity of you all. And thanks to all of you who helped along the way!

    Pastoral Search Update

The District informs us that there is a couple who has prayed about meeting with Hill Country Nazarene regarding a pastoral call. Due to the holidays, and the death of Dr. Talmadge Johnson, (father of our District Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Johnson), we will learn more about this in January. Let us be in prayer as the DS and Board work together in the process of seeking a new pastor. Please remember to pray for Dr. Johnson and the family during this time of grief and adjustment.

    Year-end Financial Gifts

Financial gifts for tax year 2023 must be received by the church and/or postmarked on or before December 31. If you give online, the cutoff date is December 28 so that the payment can be processed before year end.

Please consider putting the church building fund on your Christmas list as a gift above and beyond your tithes. One of our air conditioning systems has gone down, and it may cost upwards of $15,000 to repair it! Our building and equipment have reached the age where repairs and replacements are becoming more frequent. Let’s all work together to take care of God’s house.
