Being a Significant Witness
I missed being able to worship with you all this past Sunday. I apologize for bringing the cold Kansas City weather and snow back with me. The M25 Conference was such an amazing time of revitalization, renewal, and refocus on what it means to be a mission-focused church. Our denomination was founded on being missional people, bringing the Gospel and message of holiness to all surrounding communities. They sought to bring aid to the poor, needy, and lost. We should have that same mindset now. Jesus told us in Matthew 25:34-40:
|
“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’"
When we are fulfilling our responsibility as Christ followers, we are not only serving others in the same humility that Christ showed, but we are also fulfilling the Great Commission. We are going to serve others, and in that service we are able to teach them the lifestyle of Christ: to put others' needs above your own. Let us be encouraged to do the same.

We have an opportunity to bring help to Reveal Resource Center, which has a need for diapers. We also have an opportunity to serve our community in a few weeks. South by Southwest (SXSW) will be in Austin from March 7th-16th. There will be people from many countries converging on Austin and we have the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life. A group called SVC will be there to pray and be available for people who seek spiritual guidance. There will be opportunities to pray for the event, to go and be part of street teams, or to be part of their prayer tent. We can discuss options if we would like to participate as a church or as a small team. I encourage you to pray about how God will guide you in the opportunity He is calling us to. I can't wait to worship with you on Sunday!

|
- Pray for James Smith as he continues to heal after surgery, and for the Lord to sustain him and Andrea financially while he's out of work.
- Please continue to pray that Caroline Hedman's parents can sell their business soon, and that God is in control of the whole process. Also, her dad's surgery failed and he has to have a total hip replacement in mid-March. Please pray for strength to start the whole process over again.
