Run to Win

Shalom and Happy New Year Church!

Each year begins with such hope and optimism for many of us. We are excited about new opportunities on the horizon or a continuation of the good season we are in. Many of us start the new year with "resolutions" to focus on, whether it be to eat better, get more exercise, spend more time with family, or diving deeper into a relationship with God. Let us be reminded that it is a journey, a marathon if you will. While it is important on how you start a race, it is more important on how you finish it. The keys to any achievement is intentionality, consistency and discipline.

The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 9:24-26a, "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim;"

As we go about our "Restored" sermon series, let us be consistent in seeking a deeper relationship with God. Allow Him to restore your heart this week as we will look closer at what it means to love God with all our heart. Let us be intentional with our time together and our time spent in personal devotion. Allow God to direct you into conversations where you can intentionally speak the truth of the Gospel in love to someone. I am excited to worship with each one of you this Sunday.

Shalom,
