God's Significant Influence
This week we will begin a new series based on the significance of our life as a Christian. How everything we do personally in our time with God should reflect how God uses us. The significance of our life lived with Christ can be summarized as this: "For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." - Galatians 2:19-20.
Paul states to us that the old law only brought death. Living in the flesh and its desires will only bring about death. Not only physical death, but emotional, mental, and spiritual death. The new law found in the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ brings us to life. It puts to death the old creation to walk in a newness of life completely in service to Almighty God. The faith we have in Jesus allows the presence of the Holy Spirit to dwell within us. This compels us to live a new life, seperated from who we once were. No longer able to live a life bound to the sins of the flesh, but in the freedom of service to the Spirit.
My prayer for us this week is that we allow God to have a significant hold of our life. Significant meaning complete and utter control over it; that God would be the most important and essential thing in our life, that we would die to the flesh and accept the yoke of Jesus upon ourselves, so that we may further His Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. I can't wait to worship with you on Sunday.
