Peace in the Waiting

Shalom Church!

We have reached the final Sunday of Advent. This Sunday will be the Sunday of Peace. As we continue to prepare for what God has for us, let us reflect on the Prince of Peace. The Prince who got off of His throne to become one of us. To live like us, to feel pain like us, to experience life the way we do. He was peaceful to all people and treated all with tenderness. He walked humbly with God throughout His entire time here on the earth. Even when He was faced with the cross and His body was given the lashes we deserved, He still showed love, joy, peace, and hope. Let us not forget that these four traits are not dependent on our circumstances, but are an outflowing from a place of gratitude and faith in God.

Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." The Peace of God will sustain us throughout our life. Let us walk in peace as we pour into those around us the love, joy, and hope of the Gospel.

We will have our Christmas Eve service at 6pm on Tuesday. Invite friends and loved ones as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. I am excited to worship with you all this Sunday.

Shalom,
Pastor Donovan McMahan
