When You Feel Overwhelmed

We have all had those days when it seems that if things can go wrong... they do! That is so frustrating. I had one of those days this week. What do you do when you get frustrated?

Answer: Turn to the Word and prayer. Isaiah the prophet was often frustrated by the lack of obedience and trust from the Jews. He predicted both their fall and the hope of their future redemption. Some of the leaders would have liked to kill Isaiah to shut him up. And even worse, the people in Jerusalem did not want to hear the truth. God comforted Isaiah with these words: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isa. 41:10 (NIV).

So, when you feel frustrated and do not know what to do... let God hold your hand and bring you through!

Prayer Requests

  • John Napoli, an employee of Jim Day, received multiple injuries in a car accident.
  • Jose Cavazos: Cancer treatments
  • Mike Hedman: Employment
  • Pray for God's leadership regarding our current pastoral candidates, Donovan and Danni McMahan, who will be our guests Sunday, September 22.
  • The Church needs a new liability insurance company. Our policy expires Sep. 30, 2024 as the company is leaving TX and no longer insuring churches in TX.

REACHING THE ONE!

There is a small glass container with slips of paper and a pen behind the "ONE BOX" on the communion table. Feel free to place a new or additional name of someone you hope to reach for Christ in the box. Then, at pastoral prayer time, come and pray for the "ONE or ONES" you are hoping to reach for Christ.

Every Saturday!

Saturday at 4 PM @ HCN:
Meet with Danette for Prayer Warrior Ministry. Pray about our church, its members, and anything else that is on your heart.

We need some help!

We need a few men to help us move some furnishings and equipment in the church office so we can complete repairs before the McMahans' visit on Sept. 22. Watch for the announcement and plan to help out!

Building Fund

We are on our way to fulfilling the challenge to match the generous gift that was given to us for our building fund. The Goal is $30,000.

I am confident that we can reach our goal. It would be great if we could achieve this before the end of the year. These resources will enable us to take care of some much needed repairs and needs for the future. — Pastor Jim
