Cure for a Dry Spell

Have you ever been through a period of time which seemed like a "dry spell." You feel like you are in the desert spiritually and the joy of your salvation seems distant. Do not despair. The causes of this are often physical, mental, emotional, relational episodes in life where life is not as you expected. The answer to this is to "drink from the well."

In John 4, we read of a woman whose life was a mess. She was living an immoral life. She kept searching for love in all the wrong places. She had ceased to worship God. Then, she met Jesus, who offered her water that would keep her from ever being spiritually thirsty again. (See John 4:1-42) Jesus told the Samaritan woman: 13 ... “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” Jn 4:13-14 NIV

Jesus offers her an "inner spring" which will put an end to her dry spell. When she takes her eyes off of her problems and sees Jesus for who He is, she discovers the true source of joy. Feeling dry? Go to the well... Go to Jesus! Let the peace of God rule your life, not your circumstances.

Pastoral Candidates

The District has presented two video interviews of possible pastoral candidates for the Church Board to consider. Plus, we are told that the Church in Florida which has offered to help us, is still on the table. The Church Board will view these interviews, consider the Florida Option, and ask God go guide them in how to move forward in the pastoral search. Our prayer is and always will be: "Lord, we want the person You want to be our pastor." Pray for God's guidance regarding His will on the matter.

Prayer Requests

  • Bill and Pat Wilson: undergoing tests and procedures
  • Caroline Hedman: assisting her parents in Colorado
  • Jose Cavazos: Cancer treatments
  • Mike Hedman: seeking employment
  • Carl Rackley and family: dealing with Covid - Carl said, it was from exposure to a visiting family member.
  • For the "ONE" whom God has placed on your heart.
