Where there is no vision, the people perish.
There are three components to a healthy, growing church:
|
- Mission: What God says we are to do (Great Command/Commission)
- Vision: How we perceive we are to fulfill the mission in our community
- Strategy: A plan for fulfilling the mission and vision. How to get from where we are to where we want to be.
Years ago, Hill Country Nazarene created a vision statement:
|
Restoring Hope | Rebuilding Lives | Reflecting Jesus
It is easy to see that if we are going to do these things we must be very intentional about outreach! The Church Board and I are beginning the process of creating a strategic plan. Here are two important questions we need to answer:
|
- What are we doing now to fulfill our mission and vision?
- What do we need to do to get from where we are to where we need to be?
We want to get the process started so that a prospective pastor will see that we are serious about reaching lost people and growing as a church. Please pray for us that God will give us wisdom and insight. —Pastor Jim
