When Life Seems Like A Battle
|
There are times when it seems that troubles, trials, and adversity just seem to come from all sides. We wonder if we will be able to endure.
|
Satan tempts us into thinking God has abandoned us, or that He no longer loves us. But that, of course, is just not true. Jesus lived in a troubled world and faced opposition constantly throughout his entire life. But he endured, and was exalted. King David had his own battles, both personally and nationally. Yet, God delivered him from them all.
|
In 2 Samuel 22, David, a gifted musician, writes a psalm/ode praising God for his faithfulness amidst all the battles and trials of life. He writes,
|
"As for God, his way is perfect. The Lord's word is flawless, he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure." —2 Samuel 22:31-33
|
|
So, as the Gospel song says, "When I need a shelter, when I need a friend, I run to the rock." Let the God of endurance be your rock today! — Pastor Jim

A Special Need
|
Our upstairs AC unit on the south side has finally come to the place when it can no longer be repaired. We have a good, reputable company who has been working on our AC issues for several months. They repair units when it can be done, but this time, it is too far gone. The cost of replacing this unit is $10,780. We have not had a building fund long enough to have that kind of balance in the fund. Would you please pray about giving a generous donation to the building fund? With our own needs, as well as the Work and Witness Teen Group that is staying at our facility, we need to make this repair ASAP.

Prayer Requests
- Bill Wilson was admitted to the hospital via emergency on Monday. An issue related to his liver condition caused him to retain several liters of fluid, which made it hard to breathe. They drained the fluid, and he returned home on Tue. They are now trying to figure out what to do next.
- Wade Raquet, who is suffering with arthritis.
- Jose Cavazos as he is being treated for two types of cancer.
- Mike Hedman, who is interviewing for employment.
- For several of our church families facing financial trials.
- For the "ONE" whom God has placed on your heart.
- For God's guidance in the pastoral search, and special blessing on the church board who are involved in this process.

Valerie Knight & Melody
Let's get together and celebrate Valerie's accomplishment of graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Child Studies from Post University! Of course, we also want to shower her and adorable little Melody with lots of fun girl things. Melody is currently wearing size 6-9 month clothes and is in size 2 diapers.
