I hope everyone has been able to stay warm this week! As we get closer to Christmas, let's not allow the weather to affect the warmth we have within our hearts for family, friends, and those who will be friends soon. In this season of Advent, we have been steeping in what it means to have hope: the hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ. We have a hope upon hope that Jesus will return and shine His glorious light upon a dark and fallen world.

This week we will be reading about the peace that can only come through Jesus. In a season where busyness is at an all-time high, we are called to seek peace in the Lord. I am reminded this week that Jesus asks us to be peacemakers, not peacekeepers. In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." We are all called to make peace, to step into chaos and bring a calm to the storms of life. It is a peace that surpasses all understanding, because it is a peace that comes only from the Lord.
