Greetings Church!

I pray that our weeks have been full of love for each other and our neighbors. When the church is on the mission to love others, it makes an impact in the community. Our prayers for the "Ones" will be answered and I believe that the answer will come from God through each of us. When our focus is on being in the Word throughout the week, those opportunities to speak it begin to increase. When the Spirit within nudges us to speak, we only need to open our mouth. There are two people that come to my mind when it comes to being obedient and speaking when given the opportunity to share the Gospel.

The first is Peter, the rock, who sometimes spoke and acted a little too quickly. After he received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, he stood before those gathered before him and "raised his voice and declared to them" (Acts 2:14). Peter didn't prepare any sermon, he just stood up and gave an account of Jesus Christ. Peter was a fisherman before this and didn't have formal training to speak in public. Yet the Spirit within him empowered him to do it.

The second person I think of is Stephen, the deacon. Stephen was a man full of grace and truth. Yet when he is dragged before the council, he too, opens his mouth. The account he gives of Jesus Christ goes from the beginning all the way to His crucifixion. The Scripture doesn't tell us what Stephen did for a living before he was selected, yet we can tell that he was diligent in his attentiveness to the Spirit.

Let's be attentive to the Spirit. We might not ever know the impact we had, but we are called to obedience.

We have our monthly potluck this week, let's invite a friend to church! We also have our trunk-or-treat coming up. We will have more details available on how you can help with this event. Man Camp is also coming up, if you want to come enjoy fellowship with the Lord and other men and build bonds across the district I encourage you to come to this event. I am excited to worship with you this Sunday!
