This newsletter comes from a heart of remembrance:

24 years ago, we faced a morning like any other, yet it would not end like a normal day. We were able to observe an attack that changed the trajectory of our nation. It brought many people to the Lord as they were dealing with loss. Today is a day where we remember those who were killed by that act of terror. Yesterday there also another act of terror when Charlie Kirk was shot at a Turning Point event at Utah Valley University. My initial reaction was sorrow that a man who used his platform to spread the Gospel was taken by the action of the enemy using a soul that Jesus came to save. His family that he left behind will need prayers of comfort, healing, and protection during this time of grief. While this is a terrible tragedy and a day of remembrance for another tragedy, it leads me to Scripture.

Revelation 21:3-5 "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." And He who sits on the throne said 'Behold, I am making all things new' and He said, 'Write, for these words are faithful and true.'" In the midst of sorrow, pain, and tragedy, we have this promise from the greatest promise keeper. God will dwell amongst His people, He will take away death, mourning, tears, crying, pain and replace them with life, joy, praise, smiles, and laughter. In these days, the world needs to see the light of Christ now more than ever. Our witness is more important with each passing day. Jesus tells us in John 14:1 "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me".

I believe in Jesus and that He has gone to prepare a place for each of us. I believe that God will do what He said He will do. Let us rejoice that our God will never leave us nor forsake us. We can take joy and solace in that. I am excited to worship with you on Sunday!
